Team Donate Life did a great job at the New York City Triathlon on July 18, 2010. Congratulations to everyone who participated and supported our team!

John Acquaro, as you may already know, received a heart transplant on April 1, 2007 at the age of 55.

Ever since then, John, together with his wife Karen and their son Bryant have become highly prominent advocates for organ donation. They are giving back by volunteering for the New York Organ Donor Network, by holding special events and fundraisers, and by getting everyone they know to enroll in the New York State Donate Life Registry.

John and Bryant are heading up Team Donate Life at the 2010 New York City Triathlon. All financial contributions received will support the New York Organ Donor Network’s public education efforts to increase the number of organ, eye and tissue donors by encouraging everyone age 18 and over to enroll in the New York State Donate Life Registry.

There are two ways you can support public education about donation:

• OPTION 1 -- If you are a “Donate Life" Team Member, this is where you can create your own personal fundraising page: If you are a Donate Life team member, this page allows you to create and manage your own personal fundraiser page for the Triathlon and to support the Donor Network’s public education programs. To begin, click on “Create a Fund” above. Once your page has been created, you will be able to “Manage a Fund” above.
• OPTION 2 -- If you want to support a member of Team Donate Life: This is also the page where you can support the fundraising goals of any of the members of this great team whose objective is to get the word out about organ donation…and to encourage ALL New Yorkers to enroll in the New York State Donate Life Registry.
